Chairman of the Board: Kyle Sheets, MD
Dr. Kyle Sheets, founder and chairman of PAPA, graduated from UTMB School of Medicine in Galveston, Texas.  He completed his Family Practice residency training at Via Christi Family Medicine Residency Program in Wichita, Kansas, and currently practicies rural medicine in Muleshoe, TX.  Kyle spends several weeks each year working in mission hospitals in third world countries.  Kyle and his wife, Bernita, have ten children.

 

Kathy Brown
Kathy Brown teaches High School in the Dallas area.  “My husband Gary and I first traveled with PAPA to Zimbabwe in 2004.  The needs of the people are staggering, but their joy, faith, and hope in Christ are remarkable and blessed us. I know that PAPA makes a difference in the lives of those we minister to as well as the volunteers. I am very excited to see what God has in store as we continue to serve.” Kathy and her husband, Gary, have three grown children and five grandchildren.

Shannon Burton
Shannon Burton is a graduate of Texas A&M University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry. She received her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. Shannon is a licensed Physical Therapist and has practiced in a variety of clinical settings. Shannon is married and has four children. She and her husband and two oldest chidren took their first trip to Africa in the summer of 2009. This was a life-changing event for their family and they cannot wait to return and serve again.

 

Geoff Gilbert
Geoff lives in Abilene with his wife Candy and their son.

 

Ronda Hillis
Ronda is a world traveler who earned her Masters of Arts in Communications from Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas.  She is president of Friendze Stores, an 18-year-old, five-store chain that imports and exports art fashion items while helping each client improve their financial standing through design, technique and creativity.

 

Major Nathaniel Ott
Nate is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame where he received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.  He has served in the United States Air Force since 1997 and is currently an F-16 pilot stationed at Luke AFB, Arizona.  Nate and his wife Terah live in the Phoenix area and have one son.

 

Shelley Pinson
Shelley is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in Fort Worth, TX.

 

Zachary Sheets
Zachary Sheets received a Bachelor of Applied Studies degree in Liberal Arts with emphasis in Communications and Youth and Family Ministry from Abilene Christian University in Abilene, TX. He is President and COO of Concord Medical Group, Inc. He has a heart for missions. He currently lives in Abilene with his wife Kara and their two sons.

 

Rick Stouffer
Rick Stouffer is a graduate of Bucknell University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. He worked for three years as an engineer before entering medical school at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Rick obtained training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at the University of Virginia. He is a Professor of Medicine and Vice Chief of Cardiology at the University of North Carolina, and lives in Chapel Hill with his wife and four children.

 

Scott Stringfield
Scott is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita, Kansas, and has served as Associate Director of the Via Christi Family Medicine Residency Program in Wichita for the past twelve years.  Via Christi is the second largest program of its kind in the nation, and is dedicated to training physicians who are comfortable practicing medicine anywhere in the world, whether the setting is urban, suburban, rural, or overseas.  Via Christi recently implemented the International Fellowship, a one-year program designed to train Family Physicians for the rigors and challenges facing those who practice third-world medicine.  The program partners with Karanda Mission Hospital in Zimbabwe, Africa, where fellows spend five months training with clinicians who have practiced third-world medicine for decades.  Scott resides in Wichita with his wife, Kerry, and their three children.

 

Rick Reeves

Rick serves as PAPA's Executive Director and has a Bachelors degree from Abilene Christian University.  He is currently the Scenic Designer/Technical Director for the University of Oklahoma's Opera program.  Due to military travel, he has developed a heart for missions and 3rd world development.  These travels have brought him to serve PAPA, Inc.  He currently resides in Norman, OK, with his wife and son.
